Presentation of TALENT in the Energy Community webinar about energy storage projects

Even if most of us are working from home, the energy community keeps discussing relevant solutions and innovative concepts to accelerate the energy transition!

In this perspective, on 19 May 2020, the TALENT concept was introduced during a webinar dedicated to energy storage projects organised by the international organisation Energy Community.

During a panel session focused on energy storage projects and their key role in the energy system, several energy experts had the opportunity to discuss innovative concepts related to electricity storage, storage and decarbonisation, battery storage and pumped hydroelectric storage.

At this occasion, Marko Svetina, CEO of our TALENT partner - cyberGRID -, shared his experience and presented their proprietary technology for energy management and flexibility aggregation with its capabilities to combine energy sources from battery storage, renewable energies, and distributed generators. The interoperable software developed in TALENT is a new service for energy resources management, playing a key role in the integration of more intermittent renewable energies in the European grid, and paving the way for a carbon-neutral Europe.

The presentation highlighted the TALENT concept and the key role of the Virtual Power Plant system controlling several local Distributed Hybridised Energy Management Systems (DHEMS) and several Battery Management Systems (BMS). This system allows operation of hybrid plants and storage systems so that grid stability can be ensured through the increase of renewable sources penetration.

In the TALENT project, cyberGRID is indeed responsible for developing and validating the interoperable software for decentralised and hybridised energy systems and to develop and validate the stationary battery digital twin that can be used for predictive planning.
