1. What is the role of your organisation in the TALENT project? What about your role?
Inside the framework of the TALENT project the Siemens Gamesa team in charge of the development of the Distributed Hybrid Energy Management System (DHEMS) is responsible of the local and remote control of hybrid power plants. The DHEMS is a two-part controller, one part located locally in the hybrid power facility and the other part (optional) located in the cloud working as a technical aggregator for hybrid plants managed by Local DHEMS units. The DHEMS is able not only to execute local control routines but also to follow set points received from a VPP as has been demonstrated with CyberNOC by CyberGRID.
The performance of the DHEMS and its collaboration with the VPP has been successfully demonstrated in the facility of "La Plana" during WP6 as will be seen in D6.5.
Fortunately, I had the opportunity of being involved during the whole project from the DHEMS specifications definition to the validation of the real products in the facility.
2. How do you see the cooperation between the project partners?
The Siemens Gamesa team has been in close contact with several partners during the evolution of the project, in all cases the cooperation has been positive achieving fruitful results in all tasks done jointly. The high interest in the project shown by all the partners has made the TALENT a successful project.
3. What challenges have you met during the work with the TALENT project and how did you overcome them?
Probably the main challenges were the development of the cloud part of the DHEMS and the communications between the DHEMS and the VPP through the IEC 104 communication protocol. In both cases the way to overcome the challenges was the same, the fruitful collaboration with the TALENT partners, in this case CARTIF for the DHEMS development and CYBERGRID for the communications.
4. What is going to happen in the following months in your work?
Since the development of the DHEMS is finished and the validation is almost done, the following months will be dedicated to deliverable writing and reviewing and dissemination activities.
