The Pilots

The innovative technologies developed in the TALENT project framework will be tested in the following 4 relevant environments

Power electronics architecture for multi-home level

Leading partner
University of Oviedo
Location
Oviedo, Spain

Carried out at the University of Oviedo, the operation of the iBatt module developed previously as well as the integration for the multi-home applications will be tested at the microgrid installation of the LEMUR research group in Spain.

Power electronics architecture for district

Leading partner
Gamesa Electric
Location
Bilbao, Spain

The solutions at district level systems will be tested at Gamesa Electric which is equipped with a regenerative test rig, including an AC/DC converter to provide a regulated DC-bus that can be used as a photovoltaic panel emulator or battery emulator.

Power electronics architecture

Leading partner
CEA
Location
Le Bourget du Lac, France

The prototype will be validated in the high voltage part of the CEA which is equipped with a 4kV-50kW power supply with the possibility to use the thermostatic exchanger connector for the cooling of semiconductors or a battery, and is designed in fire-resistance for 2 hours in the event of damage to the battery.

iSaaS management system

Leading partner
Siemens-Gamesa
Location
La Plana, Spain

At Siemens-Gamesa’s facilities in La Plana, the results coming from the management software for decentralised and hybridised energy systems will be validated. This is one of the most innovative installations in the hybridisation of wind turbine, solar energy with diesel integration and storage. Moreover, it is able to operate both connected and disconnected from local grid to perform every kind of test.
